Niowave, Inc. is a high-tech research and manufacturing company that specializes in
superconducting particle accelerators and their components. Advances in this technology
during the past 10 years have opened up new opportunities such as the International Linear
Collider, Rare Isotope Accelerator, spallation neutron sources, free electron lasers and
advanced light sources. A major focus of the company will be the
International Linear Collider
and its need for industrial participation. The technical expertise includes electron beam welding,
forming and machining high purity
niobium, chemical etching facilities, ultra pure high pressure
water systems for cleaning, assembly in cleanrooms, ultrahigh vacuum technology, cryogenic
engineering, applied superconductivity, radio frequency and microwave engineering, magnets,
charged particle sources,  beam dynamics, beam diagnostics and instrumentation and
sophisticated control systems.
About Us
Dr. Terry Grimm,

the founder of Niowave, Inc., has been a senior scientist and key
member of the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory’s
leadership for over 13 years. The majority of the technical staff at
Niowave comes from the accelerator community and has been
directly involved with superconducting
radio frequency (SRF) development and
research since 2000. The group at
Niowave has already designed,
developed and tested a variety of SRF
niobium cavities and cryomodules. They
also have been directly involved with
building up the infrastructure to
complete this research.
