BCP / Chemical Etching
Niowave houses a chemistry lab to conduct buffered chemical
polish (BCP) etching using hydrofluoric acid, nitric acid, and
phosphoric acid (1:1:2 ratio). We have capabilities of etching
both niobium (Nb) and copper (Cu). Chemical machining is
also practiced when tolerances are critical.
Cleanroom Processing
Class 100 cleanroom facilities used for cleaning and assembling parts used in SRF cavity
fabrication and testing. Ultra sonic cleaner and ultra pure water available in cleanroom to
degrease and clean cavity parts. High-pressure rinse system for final cleaning of finished
cavity, used after chemical cleaning.

- De-greasing
- Ultra-Sonic Baths (ultra-pure water)
- Nitrogen Filled Bagging
- Ionized Nitrogen Drying
